Ichi ban means number one in Japanese, and I just had to give this wine a rating of ten. The only issue that I can see with it is the price versus what you are getting in the bottle, but that in itself balances it out, since it is a premium sake (and ounce for ounce it is probably on bar with many champagnes like Dom Perignon).

I can't believe Silvio ([Lelli] of NationWide Wine & Spirits, LLC) was holding this one out on me for awhile.

This wine has the most delightful taste of guava, grapefruit, and maybe even honeysuckle, and I can say that it can easily compete with, and bypass the taste of any mimosa or bellini (too bad that I mix my bubbly with either pineapple, grapefruit or pomegranate juice). This is definitely a wine to keep stashed away for a late night rendezvous, or an early morning intimate tete-a-tete.

Again, find this wine, and cop a case of it; yes, it will cost you a c-note easily, but you'll find that it's money well spent.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
